Golden State Warriors fans will be thrilled to hear that Klay Thompson is one step closer to a return to the court.

The All-Star guard has reportedly been cleared to participate in the team’s full practices and might even suit up for the Warriors before the year ends.

“Klay Thompson came through well after a week of 5-on-5 scrimmaging and has been cleared to be a full-time participant in all future Warriors’ practices, sources tell The Athletic,” wrote Shams Charania and Anthony Slater of The Athletic. “Thompson is trending toward a potential return the week before Christmas Day, those sources said.”

Golden State has been one of the best teams in the league this season, thanks to another spectacular season from Stephen Curry and solid performances from its role players.

The team is currently 14-2 in the standings with an average point differential of +13.0. Golden State leads the league in both categories.

Even so, the Warriors are not clear favorites to win the title this season. But that might change once they get a fully healthy Thompson in the fold.
