Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards allegedly has been exposed by an Instagram model whom he apparently sent $100,000 to have an abortion. The controversy has arisen while the 22-year-old’s girlfriend also is pregnant.

In a series of screenshots from the account of @dreampaige (possible real name Paige Jordae), the discussion allegedly involving Edwards includes photos of a pregnancy test and wire transfer for the money dated Nov. 27, 2023.

The back-and-forth conversation ranges from discussions on having the baby, a previous abortion and moving the matter to include an attorney.

There is also a post from Jordae that said she had no intention for the matter to become public.

Edwards addressed the matter with a statement on Monday.

Edwards’ girlfriend Jeanine Robel announced recently that she is pregnant.

Edwards dedicated a good game to her back in January of last season, saying he “had to put on a show for her.”

The seemingly budding controversy comes with the Timberwolves sitting in first place in the Western Conference. They have won 11 of their past 13 games and will take a 19-5 record into their game against the Miami Heat on Monday night. Edwards is listed as questionable for the game with a hip pointer injury.

So far this season, he leads the Timberwolves in scoring, averaging 24.2 points per game in his 21 appearances. He is second on the team at 5.1 assists per game and third at 5.3 rebounds per contest.

He was often the team’s leading scorer in their games earlier in the season but has not done so in seven games since Nov. 28, which coincidentally was the day after the alleged money transfer.

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft out of the University of Georgia, Edwards is playing his fourth NBA season. He is thought to be a budding superstar and possibly one of the faces of the league someday.

After a standout performance for Team USA at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, he also could be in consideration for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics that will be held in Paris.
