The Houston Rockets may not be done making moves after trading disgruntled superstar James Harden on Wednesday.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the teams expected to try to acquire forward P.J. Tucker from the Rockets.
“The Wolves have maintained contact with the Rockets on Tucker and were expected to re-engage now that Harden is gone, sources told The Athletic,” wrote Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.
Tucker, 35, has gained interest from multiple teams across the league.
The veteran is averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 boards and 1.2 steals per game this season. He is known for his high energy and relentless effort on the defensive side of the floor.
As a result, the Timberwolves will have competition for Tucker’s services. Multiple Eastern Conference contenders may see value in his ability to match up with opposing star forwards, such as Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The Timberwolves could certainly use Tucker’s help. The Wolves hold a 3-8 record and are in last place in the Western Conference.
