Josh Giddey trends on social media amid allegations that Oklahoma City Thunder guard slept with underage girl

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Josh Giddey may be in a bit of hot water as allegations of him sleeping with an underage woman have emerged.

The allegations came out on X, where a user posted pictures and videos of Giddey, 21, with a supposed high school junior.

Giddey has yet to respond to the allegations, but he appears to have blacked out his Instagram profile picture and limited comments on his posts, perhaps as a result of the situation. If the allegations against Giddey are ultimately proven to be true, the Thunder guard could potentially face legal consequences as well as discipline from the NBA.

The situation has drawn a lot of attention on social media from the NBA world.

While this situation could potentially serve as a distraction, things have been going very well on the court for both Giddey and the Thunder so far this season. Through 15 games of action, Oklahoma City sits at 11-4, which is good for second in a very competitive Western Conference.

The Thunder have won six straight games and eight of their last 10, and though it’s still early in the season, they certainly look like a team that could make a legitimate run at the postseason. The Thunder haven’t made the playoffs since 2020.

Giddey, who is in the midst of his third season in the NBA, has started in all 15 games for Oklahoma City, and he’s putting up some solid stats. In 27.2 minutes of action per performance, Giddey is averaging 12.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

In addition to Giddey, the Thunder have a couple of other young players that have shown a lot of potential. After being named to his first All-Star team last season, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has continued his ascent this season. He’s currently fourth in the NBA with an average of 30.4 points per game, and he’s also adding a career-high 6.4 assists per performance. He has quickly developed into one of the best point guards in the NBA.

Meanwhile, Chet Holmgren is having an extremely impressive rookie campaign. The big man is averaging 17.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game, and if he can continue his high level of production, he may have a shot at winning the league’s Rookie of the Year award.

The Thunder will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, though Giddey’s situation is suddenly something that is hard to ignore.
