Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is known as one of the best offensive players in the NBA at the moment.

Unfortunately for him, his ability to put up huge point totals in games hasn’t led to much team success in recent years.

Perhaps that’s why a recent message of his directed at an AAU team seemed very passionate. Beal made a point to talk to young ballers about how their stats don’t mean anything compared to team success.

“What can you do to impact the basketball game to win?” he asked the group of players standing around him. “F— your stats!”

Beal is a passionate competitor, and it is clear that his competitive spirit extends beyond the NBA.

His fiery approach to helping the AAU players also probably has to do with the fact that Beal didn’t really get to enjoy a full NBA season during the 2021-22 campaign. His season ended prematurely due to wrist surgery.

In 40 games this year, he averaged 23.2 points, 6.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds per game. Though Beal does currently have an improved roster around him in Washington compared to the talent he’s played with in other seasons, it still does not look like a team that many would expect to make much noise.

For that reason, Beal remains at the center of many rumors as the NBA quickly approaches its offseason. It will be interesting to see what his future holds.

As for the young players in the video, they’d be wise to soak up every bit of advice Beal offers them during their time together.
