Three-time Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt announced that he is signing with the Arizona Cardinals.

Watt, 31, was released by the Houston Texans following the 2020 season.

Watt will be receiving a two-year, $31 million deal with $23 million guaranteed, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

It is a huge move for the Cardinals, who also traded for Watt’s former Texans teammate DeAndre Hopkins prior to the 2020 season.

Last season for Houston, Watt totaled 52 tackles and five sacks in 16 games.

The Cardinals just missed the playoffs last season, as they went 8-8.

By adding Watt to their defense, the Cardinals are hoping to make a playoff push in the very tough NFC West.

Watt is a five-time Pro Bowler and was once one of the most dominant pass rushers in the game.

While he may not be the same player he was earlier in his career, he certainly should help Arizona in 2021.
