Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had his 2020 season cut short after suffering a devastating right ankle injury in Week 5.
Recently, he exclaimed that he is ready for the 2021 season to start.
That pronouncement is definitely good news for Cowboys fans.
Early this offseason, Prescott made his return to the practice field and looked to be in great condition. Then, after news that he was dealing with a shoulder injury made rounds, it was reported in late August that the two-time Pro Bowl selection was still on track to play in the 2021 regular-season opener.
The Cowboys were left reeling last season without their star quarterback. They finished 12th in the NFC with a 6-10 record.
Prescott will be looking to help Dallas bounce back this season and return to the playoffs after a two-year absence. The franchise’s last postseason appearance was back during the 2018 season, when it lost to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round.
The Cowboys are entering their second season under Mike McCarthy. The 57-year-old coach led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl title in 2011.
Dallas will open its regular season on Sept. 9 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
