NFL superstar Aaron Donald added to his decorated resume in the 2021 season by capturing a Super Bowl title with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams are in good shape to contend for another championship in the 2022 NFL season, but Donald’s future is a bit murky right now. The veteran has hinted at the possibility of retiring.

Los Angeles, of course, would love to have him back. Sean McVay recently offered an update on the team’s contract negotiations with the star defender.

Donald is one of the most impactful players in all of football. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl in all eight seasons of his NFL career. His resume also includes three Defensive Player of the Year awards.

In the 2021 regular season, he racked up 84 combined tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. In four playoff games, he totaled 13 combined tackles, four tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

The 31-year-old has very little left the prove at this point, but it certainly seems like he has plenty left in the tank. Ultimately, only time will tell what his future holds.

The Rams have made the playoffs in four of the last five seasons, and they’ve finished with winning records in all five of those campaigns. The organization checked a massive box with its recent Super Bowl title and is now looking to get the job done again. Repeating as champions is always a tall task, but if Donald returns to the team, Los Angeles will certainly be in the mix to win it all again.
