A video of New England Patriots star wide receiver Stefon Diggs has made the rounds on social media of late, though not for exactly positive reasons.

The video depicts Diggs on a boat, and for a short part of the clip, he can be seen with an unidentified pink substance in one of his hands.

Not long after the controversial video of Diggs found its way on the internet and social media, Diggs was not seen at New England’s voluntary organized team activity on Wednesday. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel was asked about the video and stressed the importance of making “great decisions on and off the field.”

“It’s something we’re aware of and obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field,” Vrabel said. “… Any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club.”

Diggs is still recuperating from a torn ACL he suffered while playing for the Houston Texans back in the 2024 season, but recent comments from Vrabel indicate that he’s trending in the right direction toward getting back out on the field. He was in attendance for at least one of New England’s voluntary practices the week prior.

“The timelines, and the prognosis, we’re working hard to get him back and be ready to go,” Vrabel said. “When he’s here, we’ll coach him and have him ready to go.”

Diggs stands out as arguably the Patriots’ most notable free-agent addition this offseason, and the Patriots signed him to a three-year, $69 million deal in March after he averaged 62.0 receiving yards per game with the Texans a season ago.

His lone season in Houston was particularly unspectacular by his standards, considering he was limited to eight appearances and totaled just 496 receiving yards. However, he carved out an incredibly impressive stint with the Buffalo Bills earlier in the decade.

He totaled 1,100-plus receiving yards in every one of his four seasons as a Bill from the 2020 season through the 2023 campaign, and he even led the league in receiving yards in his first season in Buffalo with 1,535.

Hopefully, the video involving Diggs holding a pink substance will be the last time Patriots fans see him in off-the-field drama for a long time.
