āHeās feeling himself and Iām getting pissed off that heās feeling himself,ā Jason Kelce said. āWeāre out in the backyard, and he starts just driving and doing this stupid little hook shot over his shoulder. It wasnāt a hook shot, but it was a driving little ā whatever thatās called. And he is making it every single time. And I canāt do anything to stop it. So, of course, I resort to fouling him. The only way I know how to stop it. And he says, āThatās bullsā. Thatās a foul.ā
āAnd Iām like, āI donāt see any refs out here. I donāt see anybody calling it.ā He picks the ball up, throws it at me, goes in the house.ā
Even though Travis Kelce was done with his older brotherās antics and fouls, Jason Kelce followed him into the house after the ball was thrown at him.
āSo, I go in there, I grab on his shoulder, and I punch him,ā Kelce said. āThis ā listen ā we would fight all the time. This is the only ā the second time Iād ever punched him. I donāt know how it got that heated. Punched him in the face, and every time before that ā in the face ā and every time before that, he would cry or whatever. He took this punch, scooped me up off my feet and slammed me on the kitchen floor so hard, the oven got knocked off the rack ā what it was sitting on ā the tracks. I get up. Weāre in a full-on fist fight.ā
The Kelce brothers are extremely close at their current ages, hosting a podcast together and supporting each other in their professional careers. Now that Jason Kelce is retired from the NFL, itās possible he will attend more of Travis Kelceās games with the Chiefs this season.
Despite their relationship now, it appears the two were competitive and normal siblings that had to throw down to get their frustration out with each other.
Since Travis Kelce is taller than his brother, itās possible thatās what gave him the advantage during their basketball game.
Ultimately, the two chose to pursue football instead of basketball, playing together in college at the University of Cincinnati.
A seven-time Pro Bowler and one-time Super Bowl champion, Jason Kelce played his entire NFL career for the Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted him in the sixth-round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Ironically, Jason Kelce began his NFL career in Philadelphia playing for Andy Reid, Travis Kelceās current head coach with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Chiefs selected Travis Kelce in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and heās gone on to win three Super Bowls with the franchise while becoming one of the greatest receiving tight ends of all time.
Itās cool for fans to get a small inside glimpse into just how competitive the Kelce brothers were with each other outside of the NFL.
