The Oklahoma City Thunder reportedly traded star point guard Chris Paul to the Phoenix Suns for a package of players.

The deal includes Suns forward Kelly Oubre heading to the Thunder as well as a protected first-round pick in 2022.

However, Phoenix was not on the top of Paul’s wish list.

Apparently, Paul wanted to be traded back to the Los Angeles Clippers for one key reason.

Paul wanted to return because Los Angeles had fired head coach Doc Rivers.

Last season, Paul led the Thunder to the playoffs and forced a Game 7 against the Houston Rockets in the first round of the postseason.

Paul averaged 17.6 points, 6.7 assists and 5.0 boards per game last year for Oklahoma City and showed he still has a lot left in the tank.

Now, Paul will team up with Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker in Phoenix as he continues his search for his first NBA title.
