The New Orleans Pelicans recently hired Stan Van Gundy to be their head coach.

On Monday, the 61-year-old coach sent a warning to the league that the young Pelicans won’t be punked this upcoming season.

The Pelicans made numerous moves during the offseason.

One of the huge moves was acquiring big man Steven Adams from the Oklahoma City Thunder. Adams is one of the strongest players in the association.

The international standout will man the Pelicans’ frontcourt alongside phenom Zion Williamson.

Williamson, 20, will be a massive part of Van Gundy’s game plan with the team. The No. 1 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft collected 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season.

The Pelicans have a bright future with Williamson at the head of their franchise.
