Ben Simmons reportedly practiced with the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, which marks the first time he has participated in team activities in months.

It has been a whirlwind of an offseason for the team and its disgruntled star.

After a disappointing end to the Sixers’ playoff run earlier this year, Simmons formally requested a trade from the organization that drafted him with the first overall pick in 2016. However, the front office could not find a trade package that it liked.

What ensued was a holdout, with Simmons missing training camp and the early part of the preseason.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the two parties had been working toward a resolution to bring Simmons back to Philadelphia.

It is unclear if the point guard will play for the Sixers immediately. For one thing, he may still not be in game shape after being away from the team for so long. Also, the team is reportedly still continuing to look for trade partners.

Only time will tell if Simmons will continue wearing a Sixers uniform as the season progresses.
