The Phoenix Suns are on their way to the Western Conference Finals after sweeping the Denver Nuggets.

Third-year center Deandre Ayton was all hyped up after the accomplishment and celebrated with the Phoenix faithful.

The big man out of the University of Arizona has been playing well in his first postseason run.

Ayton was key in the Suns’ first-round victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. In that series, he averaged 15.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.

Against the Nuggets, Ayton proved that his performances in the previous series were not flukes. He recorded 14.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest in four games. He also played solid defense against reigning MVP Nikola Jokic.

Before this year, Phoenix had missed the playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons. But the addition of star point guard Chris Paul last summer has helped turn the Suns’ fortunes around.

The Suns now wait for the winner of the series between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers.
