One of the best young players in the NBA at the moment is, without a doubt, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
Morant, who plays an electric style of basketball as a score-first guard, is already the face of the franchise.
Though the former No. 2 overall pick from the 2019 NBA Draft has received mountains of praise already in his career, he recently received praise from Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green that was quite unique.
In fact, Green recently stated that Morant is the young player in the league that most reminds him of himself.

“I’m going to have to go with, in a much different way, Ja Morant,” he said. “I ain’t bowing down to none of y’all. I don’t care what you’ve accomplished before I got here. That has absolutely nothing to do with me. I believe in myself and my abilities. I’m going to show you that. I’m going to lead. I’m going to talk to you and let you know about it while I’m doing it. I’m gonna carry others with me, and most importantly, I’m gone do it my way. And all of those things that I just named, I see Ja Morant do.”
Green went on to admit that he and Morant are “nowhere near the same player.” However, it seems that he sees a strong similarity in the way that the two stars approach the game.
Interestingly enough, it was Morant and the Grizzlies that arguably gave Green and the Warriors their biggest battle on their way to the 2022 NBA title. Morant was forced to miss the final three games of that playoff series, and some believe that the Grizzlies could have won had he stayed healthy.
