Former NBA player Jalen Rose appeared to agree with a take on social media that compared his college basketball team at the University of Michigan to University of Colorado Boulder football head coach Deion Sanders.
The social media post compared the haters of Rose’s Fab Five team at Michigan to being very similar to the ones against Sanders during this college football season.

Rose, Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson were the five players in the Fab Five, and they changed college basketball a bit during their team at Michigan.
Not only were they five freshmen that teamed up on the same team, but they created a culture as well during their time in college, wearing baggier shots and black socks to have distinct looks that fit their strong personalities.
It’s what made Rose and those Michigan teams great, yet some people didn’t like how they were against the norm of the sport at the time.
Sanders is having a similar dilemma at Colorado, as the NFL Hall of Famer is very outspoken and supportive of his players – not backing down to anyone in college football. So far, the strategy has worked, as Colorado is undefeated this season.
Sanders took over as the team’s head coach prior to this season, and he’s already led the Buffaloes to more wins than they had last season.
Colorado was just 1-11 during the 2022 season, but the additions of quarterback Shedeur Sanders (the son of the head coach) and receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter have helped transform the program.
Despite the Buffaloes success, the elder Sanders has clearly ruffled some feathers in college football. It’s a little surprising since he was doing the same at Jackson State University before taking the Colorado job prior to this season.
It’s hard to fault the elder Sanders for letting his personality show and empower his players, especially since it’s what made him so great during his playing career.
During his NFL career, the elder Sanders was a eight-time Pro Bowler, and he won the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award in the 1994 season. He’s also a two-time Super Bowl champion.
Rose seems to feel like that hate against the Colorado head coach is unnecessary.
