The Carolina Panthers got some bad news as star running back Christian McCaffrey was placed on the team’s injured reserve list.

Seeing action in the first three games of the season, McCaffrey came out of the Sept. 23 clash against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury and hasn’t played since.

In those three contests, McCaffrey gained 201 yards on 52 carries and collected 16 receptions.

Last season, McCaffrey was limited to just three games due to a number of injuries. However, in the two seasons prior to that, he gained more than 1,000 rushing yards and caught more than 100 passes in each season.

McCaffrey will miss the Panthers’ home game on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and will be eligible to return for the team’s Nov. 7 game against the New England Patriots.
